The Land Before Time was the movie that scarred my childhood. The sequels are bullshit, but the first movie is Damn Powerful.

The only part of TBLT I remember is the vacuum cleaner running over his own cord and shorting out.

That is all.
Same, except I also remember the vacuum cleaner using its cord to rescue one of the other electrical items. I forget which.

The real scary thing about these was the girl who played one of the characters (I never saw any of the movies) was murdered along with her mother by her alcoholic father.

I didn't even know this existed before I came upon this topic. It looks weird. Thanks Wikipedia!

Yeah, all...11 of them, now, I think.

I don't think I even saw the first one.

The one thing that gave my childhood a nice punch in the face was Outlaw Star. Mind you, this was on Cartoon Network at 4 in the afternoon, so it's right in the afternoon block. Definitely not a kids show for all the violence in it.

Speaking of mercilessly murdering cartoon characters, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Also, gratuitous sexuality from Jessica.

But that was PG. Here, at least.

Actually, I curiously did some digging and it turns out The Brave Little Toaster never received an MPAA rating at all, having never been released in theaters (it was exhibited at Sundance and then went straight to the Disney Channel, and from there to home video). So we can only speculate as to what it would have been rated even then.

For what it's worth, I saw it when I was really young and my parents were more worried that I was picking up the snarky, antisocial nature of most of the main characters than that I was bothered by the implied violence. Which is certainly true. Although, unless you believe that the stuff kids watch has an affect on their personality for the rest of their life, it seems time would prove that's just kind of who I am sometimes. *shrugs*

The part with the clown haunts me to this day.
That part of the movie is one of the main reasons I hate clowns.
