on the rare occurrences I'm in a crowded area I'll move it to my coats zip up pockets.

i dont like it anywhere else, because i habitually check to make sure its there. if its not, there is usually a brief moment of "oh, pants"

I'm the same way, but I only move it when I'm in a large city or one a train/metro/subway/bus where I have to stand rather than sit.

I hate those moments when you move it, and then go for it and are like "oh shit, where did my wallet go?"

I can never want to put it in a rear pocket. Feels weird looking around my butt for a wallet.

Right now its on my heater. When I go out it goes in my back pocket.

Back left pocket. And I too have become so accustomed to it that the rare occasion I wear sweatpants that have no back pockets, I have small panic attacks when I realize I'm not sitting on it.

Front pocket ever since some kid tried to slip it out of my back pocket on the T.

I had my pocket picked on the T a few months ago. Guy bummed a cigarette off me, we chatted for awhile, then when I got up to get my bus he reached into my *left* front pocket and stole... my cigarettes. All two of them.

That very same pocket, at the time, also contained my cell phone and my iPod. Hah!

Back pocket. I'm not too concerned about it ever getting stolen. They couldn't get it without digging deep into the back pocket and I think I would notice since it would seem like someone was trying to grab my ass.

I should add that I only keep it in the front pocket because I hate sitting on my wallet... it actually hurts me. I never keep anything in my back pockets.

Interesting. Back pockets are the stereotypical location, yet the rule applies to a minority of us here. Comfort may have something to do with it, but I think my primary reason is that it's harder for someone to pick my front pocket.

If I ever USE it, I keep it in my back right pocket where it is chained to my pants. :O
