What are you giving up for Lent, fellow heaven-bound?

I'm off alcohol. My success in giving up smoking during Advent has led me to believe that I can, step by step, remove everything I actually enjoy from me life.

Lent - Because Catholicism doesn't give you enough chances to beat yourself up.

I'm not giving up anything. Lent BTW is originally the word langa-tinaz, literally meaning 'long day' because it is when days become longer again.

I thought about giving up lent for lent but the paradox fairies, as described in Genesis 69:13, whipped me for my insolance.

Skydiving and defying the laws of physics to a noticeable degree.

But not pancakes. Mm, pancakes.

I wonder what would happen if you gave up your insanity.

Then we all might have to give up life.

Zombie jesus gave me my insanity. As a gift. Clearly he wants me to hold onto it for safe keeping. Clearly.

I, too, am giving up alcohol. This will be... difficult.

I'm giving up video games (as I have in every Lent I've observed) and reducing my intake of sweets. In a previous year, I gave up forums, but since that resulted in me simply making up for lost time later, this seems more sensible.

I don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs ... I'm not giving up sex, damnit! There's advantages to being agnostic; I don't have to :)

Visit a fat Catholic during lent and you can help by eating all their cake :P

Dante Alighieri (the writer of "Devine Comedy") said that the Croats are the most faitful people in the world.
But then again that was in the 15. century and todays, at least most of todays Croats are how to say paper catholics, that is people who are registrated as catholics but are not.
The only ones who are now on Lent are thoes who were born before WW1 and thoes religious fanatics + normal people who do belive in god.

As for me I'm an Atheist so I'm not Lenting.

You're going to have to speak up a little. Some of the aforementioned religious types gave up caffiene for Lent.

I guess we Mormons have Lent all year 'round, then.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!
