The poll RESULTS!

Postby Arloest » Wed Jan 03, 2007 4:06 am

First of all sorry for the delay. I've been sick lately and, frankly, simply didn't feel like posting them. But now I'm better so onward we go, category by category.

Most Frequently Off-Topic:
The winner is Bocaj with a total of 11 votes.
2nd place was 5h with 6 and Tai came in 3rd with 5.

Most Charismatic:
The winner is Me! Yaaay! with a total of 13 votes.
Jack and Tom both tied for 2nd with 4 votes each.
And thanks guys! :D

Most Prolific Artist:
This was a close category. The winner is Chris with a total of 7 votes.
2nd place was Rooster with 5 votes and Octan and Jack tied for 3rd with 4 votes each.

Community Spirit:
The winner is Tavis with a total of 9 votes.
Holyman finished up nicely as well, with a total of 6 votes.

Another close category. The winner is Miles E. Traysandor with a total of 8 votes.
Richard just missed the mark with a total of 7 votes, and Tum0 received 6 votes.

We have a tie, folks! The winners are Jerry Roosevelt and Zaaphod with 6 votes each!
2nd place was also a tie; Burning Sheep Productions and Jack Ravendawn recieved 3 each.

Person Most Wanted For Return:
This was another close category. The winner is Ghostway with a total of 6 votes. Foxchild is also missed, receiving 5 votes.

Newbie of the Year!:
Yep, another close one. But the winner is Codecat with a total of 7 votes.
Fanatic Fox is another welcome addition, gathering 5 votes, and as is Fekeal, gathering 4 votes.

Forum Member of the Year \:D/:
Here it is, guys, THE BIG ONE. And the winner is... Rooster, with a grand total of 12 votes. Jason (Likeafox) was also well loved this year, getting 6 votes.

And now a SURPRISE!

Lifetime Achievement Award

The panel wanted to recognize one specific member of the forum who has made a profound impact on the community for not only 2006, but nearly for its entire existance. He has earned the respect of many, if not all, who come here, and for good reason: he simply knows how to keep these boards in order.

Who is this person? Do you have to guess?

It's

Tavis!

And there's the results. Please come again and have a safe trip home.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I'd like to thank all the little people. All the midgets who took me in as a child and taught me kung-fu. Without their help I wouldn't be holding two Cynnies right now.

So Arlo's temper didn't stop her from running away with Most Charismatic. It must be her photo. Mmmm...

I didn't make the top three Furriest. Maybe that's because I'm not furry enough in the literal sense. Durn shallow fluff.

Seriously, I've been happy just to be nominated and didn't expect to win any. Congratulations to the rest of you.

Thank you all for your support and for helping make this the community it has been these three years and four months. We had come together as fans of a comic strip about two charming and witty foxes and developed into a diverse community that offers much more than that. We have often expressed our sympathies and support when one of us had hit rough times or felt ashamed and feared the reactions of others. Define 'Cynical' is full of people who have seen the world, expressed their criticism and moved on to make it better, and that has made all the difference. No one can take this community away from us because it is an intrinsic part of who we are, and I am proud and thankful of all of you for helping us thrive.

Your confidence in me is inspiring in a time when I have been feeling doubt in myself. Thank you.

The term midget is offensive, the propet term is Little Person. Calling a little person a midget is like calling a Jew a kike.
Let's compromise. I'll call them colemans and refer to myself as a cracker. A Saltine even.

I expected better results in the prolific artist category. Oh well  I thanks everyone for my two second place ties (a trio of two's!) and may the Millie be with you. Also, I must geek myself up. I must never even be in the charismatic list again.

Coolness. Congrats to all winners.

BTW, to everyone who voted for me under "most prolific artist" ... please open a dictionary and read the definition of "prolific," kthxbye. :P

Heh, I can't believe I won one. I'm not complaining though, as the competition was close, and I've got nothing against the second and third place finishers. *Gives Niner and Tumo big snuggles for being awesome people*

I thank everyone for voting for me.

And in case you were wondering, I did not vote for myself, because while that was allowed, I wanted to win fairly.
