The smileys on this forum suck, so I made some in my free time. Not sure if I'm missing anything important, but I can always add.

Image
=), =(, =D, xD, =p, =\, =l, DX, 8), ^_^, =3, blank
Made in MS paint in about 30-45 minutes.

I might also make a fox set if I have the time.

Your smileys don't move and they have horrid quality.

Jeez, so much for constructive criticism.
For one, no crap they don't move. I still need redownload an animating program (seeing as I reinstalled windows recently). That, and I'm bad at animating.
I admit I'm not the best pixel artist, but then again, they were made very quickly. Perhaps I'm just used to places that look at pixel art differently.

I use them so infrequently that I've forgotten what some look like.

No.
I figured they wouldn't actually be used, but it doesn't stop me from IMGing. Thats actually what was originally intended. Just thought I might as well have thrown them out there to show their existence for if I do decide to use them.

I personally like the concept of smileys; it shows a little more emotion when you post. Using the built in ones makes me feel n00by though, so that's why I decided to make my own. Apparently they need work though, says Mekkah.

Sorry, my crits are often sound more rude than they are supposed to.

dude WTF. :wag: is supposed to replace ^_^.

plus the fact that our default emoticons are great

Its alright. I actually used to do pixel art a lot more, but I haven't done anything decent in almost a year. At this point I just go off some of the more key concepts if I need to do some small graphics for anything.

That's one reason I had the fox set planned; in case I want to go furry (which I would probably use more often).

Eh, I personally don't like them. Not really sure why. They aren't bad, they're just not my style.

I think our smilies suck and the ones posted are much better. Could use some more improvements, little things that need to be worked out but still they're better.

Your smilies are OK but they lack transparency, which is EASIER to do than a white box if you use GIMP or Photoshop.
