Election season fanart

Caricature has never been my forte, and insisting I make the characters super-cartoony doesn't help a whole lot (though the Simpsons guys seem to pull it off pretty well).

It works. Except for Palin. I'm not even trying to be funny here, but she never looks friendly. There's always this smug glare that she has more than any other politician I've seen.

Neat! And agreed about Palin - it'd work better if you made her look a lot more angry, or maybe... not angry, but like, looking like she knows she's better than you. Sneering,I think is the word I'm looking for. I think that's actually the only facial expression she has, or at least that I've ever seen from her.

That would be the word you're looking for. In my opinion thought, it seems that when one spends enough time in the realm of politics, the seemingly friendly expression always comes across as a "know-it-all" grin. Even Obama's seems that way to an extent. At any rate though, great job.

Do you? I'm thinking that Biden looks like a slim version of McCain. I'm also thinking, "Yay, more cute Octan art!"

BTW, doesn't "fanart" imply that you like all four of them?

As a regular reader of SA's Mallard Fillmore Megathread, that's far better than most professional political cartoonists.

I mean, you didn't even have to label them.

I realy like this. I usualy hate gradient backgrounds.
I make the characters super-cartoony
giving them five fingers would be the only change that I would make to fix that.

I only just noticed that the background looks kind of French.

Can I make suggestion? Why not make them all anthro in the same way DCS does in his strips? Perhaps make Obama a lizard (Reptiles = Black people in O&M World), Biden a wolf, McCain a weasel, and Palin a fox. Just a suggestion.

Llewellyn is black! I KNEW IT!
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...
