Have you ever seen a studio vocal microphone? Often times (like in radio stations) they are shockmounted to reduce if not eliminate noise and vibrations to the entire thing from movement and such.
basically, built a suspension/shock-mount system into it to allow it to absorb scratch-worthy jolts.
