Comic Sneak Previews

Postby Tabris_The_17th » Sat Jul 21, 2007 2:55 am

Hey all. I've been working rather hard on my proposed webcomic "Alone in a Crowd," and as my signature has alluded to for a couple weeks now, I'm VERY close to launching the strip. Anywho, I've been posted some preview or work in progress pieces to deviantART recently. I'd love you forever if you'd stop by and have a gander.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/60249309/ - Most recent. An "Under Construction" image for the website.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/59607083/ - A collaboration I did with the great Kabukikatze that features my character Faith.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/59606197/ - A panel from a official "Alone in a Crowd" strip drawn a couple months back (yes, I'm creating a backlog).

There will be plenty more to see very soon :D The website will most likely be launched before July ends. A few weeks after that, "Alone in a Crowd" begins. Hope to see you there! (in other words PLEASE be there, heh)

First comment is all MINE!! :P

Those are really cool, Tabris! I'll definitely read that when it comes out.
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

You're definitely a good artist, but I doubt Alone in a crowd will be my type of comic.

What is your type of comic?

I look forward to it! I'm impressed at how tidy your inkworks seems to be even tho you don't use a computer. Those things can really spoil a person. :D

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

First of all, thank you VERY much. I can never see them as looking all that tidy myself. I'm glad they're coming off that way to others.

It's funny, I feel like such a radical by not using a computer for this comic considering it seems to be just about unheard of these days. Yet that's the truth: nothing in the "Alone in a Crowd" comic will be drawn or colored digitally (aside from removing errors or shifting panels, all done by my website's designer, not me). It does have to do with the fact I don't own any digital art programs (and if I did, I wouldn't know thing one about how to use them). However, a lot of it is also because I love the traditional charm. So everything in "Alone in a Crowd" will be hand drawn! *thumbs up*

Thanks to everyone else who commented as well ^-^
