Humbly asking for some input

Normally I wouldn't post a link to any of my art here that isn't Ozy and Millie related, but I've been working on something recently that's really close to me heart and I'm looking to get some reactions/ input/ critiques from people. It's actually a comic strip titled "Alone in a Crowd." Basically, I've drawn two initial strips just to get a feel for where the comic in going and how I want it to look. They are by no means a final product necessarily. Just something to get some ideas and inspiration off of. I figured I'd ask you guys to take a look at them because 1) You've all posted some really nice replies to Ozy and Millie fanart I've posted, and 2) You read Ozy and Millie, so I know you have good taste in comics

Strip 1: http://www.deviantart.com/view/36339224/

Strip 3: http://www.deviantart.com/view/36339740/

I don't want to speak too much about the story behind the comic just yet, because I want it to remain under wraps (can't have anyone stealing my ideas, eh? Though why would they? :| ) But if there's any questions I feel comfortable answering, I will, so feel free to ask. I will say, as strip #1 shows, "Alone in a Crowd" isn't a comic that features a straight punchline every time. There's a lot of myself in this comic, as well as life, and life doesn't always have a punchline. I know initially this first strip may not make any sense, but you'll just have to trust me with the ones that follow in the future, it will. (man, that must sound nuts).

Anyway, I have a lot of thoughts on these two comics, but I don't want to go on and on here. So to see more about what I think of my pieces, where I am, and where I'm going, just take a look at my artist comments just below the image on the deviantART page.

Many thanks for taking a look :)

Awwww! They're cute!
This looks really nice! Really, I chuckled at both of them. A very nice job on the expressions and the body language. I could easily tell what the mood was.
Questions:
What're their names?
Why is the girl such an outcast?
How old are they?
Is the boy a regular character?
Where is comic 2?

I can't wait to see more! good work!

Thank you very much Tum0spoo ^-^ I really appreciate that.

- The girl's name is Hope. The boy actually doesn't have a name.
- Now that one I can't answer 8)
- Yeah, I'd like to know that myself. I really haven't decided what age to call Hope. I have to think about what kinds of stories and dialouge I expect to give the characters and base the appropriate age off that. I can definitely say she's under 12 though.
- Nope (that was one of my plans actually. Tease people into thinking he was one of the main characters.
- Originally, comic 3 was comic 2, but I decided that there needs to be some more exposition before the boy just blows up at her like that. So comic 2 as of yet does not exist.

I can't say much with only two samples up, but I can say it's interesting. The girl seems like an eternal optimist. I'd like to see more, and get to know more of the characters.

Will we have story depth or just idle jokes?

 Quite funny! One thing I really like is the frame for the four panels. It's an instant classic.

On the contrary, I would gladly take the five bucks.

Wow, thank you so much you guys! :D All those comments mean so much to me. I'm not one to be bursting with confidence, so I tend to think I could never pull off creating an actual comic. But "Alone in a Crowd" has been such a blessing to my motivation. I've never felt so strongly about an idea I've had before. And it's showing, I believe.

But hearing you guys say you like what you see - that actually would want to read it - that just adds that much more fuel to the fire. I'm getting a lot of positive reactions to what I've been putting together as a matter of fact. I'm really starting to believe I can do this.

The comic will definitely feature in depth, emotional stories. However, it's also going to feature one shot gags. Then on another given day, it might feature a long running comical story. Basically, it's a story about the life of three girls. Sometimes life's funny, and sometimes it's not; this strip will show that. At the same time, it'll have it's fair share of comic strip goofiness. There's still a lot of work to be done towards it before I can say it's officially started, but when I have more strips, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you ^-^
