After a little practice, I decided to try doing a little tablet-drawn animation in Flash. I wanted to get a feel for what animating "Taco of Doom" (the video game I supposedly have in the works) will be like, in terms of both challenge level and quality of final result. Most certainly I won't be doing it myself, at least not most of it, but I can always use the practice for smaller projects. Anyway, I'm going to shut up now and link to the little cartoon.

"Ummmm... what's going on?"

And yeah, that is my voice run through a filter. I hadn't planned on having an actual voice in there, but I found it was impossible to animate the mouth movements believably without audio.

It gets cut off a little at the end.

Very good, but perhaps you should get a sister/daughter/niece/cousin to do a more realistic voice.

As I said, the voice was just to have something to sync to. I intend to find someone of the female persuasion to do Millie's voice for the game. It shouldn't be hard; there's 2000 students at this school and well over half are girls.

As for cutting off, yeah I don't know how that happened. I made sure to leave plenty of space when I trimmed the sound file. Oh well, I'm already starting on the second one, this time featuring Sarah Vowell as Millie. Its the raw sketch, right? Its a drawing circle to aid in face construction.

Does Millie say more after "Um, what's going on?" I waited several seconds before closing the window.

I thought the animation (what there was of it) was good.
