Announcing the first Fan Art Contest of 2005!

There's no chosen subject matter yet, but so's that we all get something we want, I'm starting a suggestions thread, the top results of which will go into a poll to be voted on.

I hope to move things along swiftly, so this thread will be open for about a week, maybe 10 days before the poll gets up, then there'll be a limit on how long you've got to do the art (We'll be generous to encompass all people's needs for time, but I hope it won't take all year ). After that, the winner will be decided by the whole forum voting for which piece they like best.

To start the ball rolling, I'll suggest "Covers of Classic Literature" done with O&M.

Yes, it has been quite some time since our last official contest on this forum (Contest topic) ~ (Contest Poll), it's probably time for a new one.

Hmm, sounds interesting, but honestly I don't know whether I would enter or not.

I'm ready and I like Ozymandias' suggestion (or maybe I'm just a literature nerd).

My suggestion is the character/s dressed up as something, doesn't have to be famous people.

Okay, well, I would like to see if that's a category that would see enough support (as the last one faltered BADLY.) I am all for seeing another Fan Art contest through, and think I might even get a couple ideas rolling for the literature theme too.

Anyway, this needs to be pinned.

Hm. I like this idea. The "Covers of Classic Literature" sounds good. I'm not sure, but maybe more recent (non-"classic") books would be able to work as well. I've already got a few ideas floating around.

Now, if only I could draw.....

All I meant by "Classic" was stuff that people knew about. But on reflection, I don't suppose that's so important.

So...everyone so far likes the theme? Any other suggestions still most welcome.

Aw heck, people, don't worry about talent! Half the fun's in taking part! I mean, I look back at my previous entry, and critize it badly, but it was still a good time doing it. If you feel like entering, enter. If you feel like suggesting a topic, even though you won't enter, suggest it anyways! The more we have to choose from, the better the end result will be!

(5 potential contestants)

There doesn't seem to be anymore ideas, I suppose it'll be covers of classic literature.

Could everyone get theirs done in 2-3 weeks?
