Yay! Eyebrows!
That amuses me so.

I do find your wording confusing, PAK. If everything becomes heat, then wouldn't heating something bring us closer to the end?"

actually im not exactly sure. basically anything you do, even if you cool something down, increases the entropy of the universe (i.e. by cooling something down, you still add more heat to the universe overall).

heck, the words arent that important :PV

As far as I know, the general idea is based on conductivity, eg. heat travels from hot stuff to cold stuff. Since the universe is infinitely large, and at a temp of 0.1K, heat will slowly spread out over the universe, until everything is at a temp of just above absolute zero.

Although I'm not sure how EVERYTHING can become heat, since heat is the vibrations of atoms, and if everything was heat, what would there be to vibrate?

Errgg, I never took physics and you are pushing my already large vocabulary. Personally, I support the idea of collapsing universes reborn again. It seems logical... no beginning or end, just an endless cycle given how much stuff in the universe is already infinite :-P .

Yeah, ok, I like astronomy  . Anyways again, yay for eyebrows, yay on nachos (even though I don't like them much) and a slight boo for the volcano.

Crazy scientists and their theories, next they'll be saying that the Earth is warming out of control and that we evolved from bdelloid rotifers.

Sorry, but saying it is all god is an arrogant explantation that solves nothing at all. Humans have this sort of lust to understand and saying it is only god more or less kills that lust for knoledge and in so doing can cause really bad things. The notion of a god practically contradicts the very law of nature which the universe must obey, otherwise... well no words can describe it. I'm not anti-religious, just very suspicious and untrusting of religion's motives, especially if it causes crazy individuals to hijack a plane and kill thousands.N

The heat that everything becomes at the end of the universe is not the vibrating of atoms. It is radiation - infra-red radiation. Light, essentially, just not visible light.

It seems logical that the Universe will eventually collapse in on itself, then happen again. Also helps with that niggly really tiny chance of life problem. However, it's just a theory, and not a very solid one at that. There are numerous studies of supernovae and other celestial objects that show that instead of slowing down, the expansion of the Universe is actually accelerating.

As such, this 'heat death' has got quite a bit going for it.

I've got an answer!

Who cares?

Let the universe do whatever it is that it does, and admire the pretty colours is what I say.
