Y'know, I might be wrong, but I think this is the first time that Felicia has ever felt the emotions she's feeling right now. Not everyone does, but those who have know what she's going through right now. Powerful stuff.

Sorry, Nicky, human nature - Nothing that I can do! It's... Schadenfreude! Making me feel glad that I'm not you!
Schadenfreude! People taking pleasure in your pain!
Its times like this that I'm grateful for tenth grade english class. And puppet musicals.

Ok...so do I need to start requesting subtitles now for this strip? Hate to break it to ya Millie but that's the way it usually goes. Never assume that you will enjoy someones suffering, even if the someone in question is a person you can't stand at all.

Honestly people, no word is obscure after it's been on The Simpsons. It's the opposite of sour grapes, or so I'm told...

I actually overheard some late teen or early twenty-something (an American) say "schadenfreude" casually, and her friends seemed to have no trouble understanding. Me, I learned the term sometime in college. But we already knew that O&M kids don't always talk like real kids their age. It's a practice seen in many comics, some of them classic.
The tears running with the makeup are kind of cute, in a pathetic sort of way. The other visual to get my attention is in panel 2. I assume that Millie is supposed to be closer to the viewer than Ozy, but with the lack of background perspective, she initially seemed larger to me. Or maybe Ozy shrank.

So, y'all think Millie's going to try and help Felicia again?
It wouldn't seem right to end the story on such a sad note...

My personal theory is that Millie read the dictionary. A lot. And was bound to pick up on some good vocabulary. Or that she's a fan of Avenue Q. Or that she's a zombie. Whichever.
