This is what I like about transliterations and artificial languages: Their writing makes sense. In Indonesian, for instance, the C is used for the "ch" sound, leaving the K and S for other purposes and rendering the diphthong unnecessary. Of course, for those who never used the system, it can be quite a learning curve. How would you think to pronounce the name Cao Xueqin?
