It is a phenomenon known as "Panel Threeness."Indeed... why is Millie always awesome in panel 3?
In four panel comics, it is the panel before the punchline, where the character makes some sort of witty remark, usually accompanied by a unique facial expression. This phenomenon has different effects on different people, including, but not limited to: joy, adoration, frustration, anger, coloring of said panel, unexplained UFO reports, migraine headaches, depression, moshing, sudden compulsion to type a wall of text, hallucinations, and fantasies of beating things with crowbars. I don't think I EVER felt what Millie's feeling here. I'd be mad at myself if I did.
