To think, if I woke up early and went to work today, I would have had the whole week of comic thread starts to myself...

And yeah, panel 4 is great. Image

Show of hands: how many people suspected that this was what Llewellyn did all day?

Idly rich remember?

Yeah, so much for Llewellyn trying to detach from material luxuries like a good Buddhist.

"Our Daughters," not "Your Daughter"? I guess I'll have to get used to that societal change.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, Tom.

I don't understand why the day is limited specifically to female offspring. I don't recall ever hearing of a "take your sons to work day" (they sure never had one at our school) though there probably is one, but why must they be segregated like that?

My school calls it take your daughter to work day, yet they still allow males to go to work with their parents.

You know, we've never had these days.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I'm not overly worried for her. Ms. Mudd knows how to handle Millie.

Me neither. I don't really see the point of it.

We had them at my school, but the stupid thing was they still considered it an unexcused absence. :P I never got to go anyway, my mom doesn't work and my dad couldn't have me with him at his job, it's too dangerous for kids.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, Tom.
I was saying that I've always heard it called "Take Your Daughter to Work Day." The slight difference in what Millie calls it led me to suspect that the day has been renamed in many places in our world. "Our Daughters" is somewhat friendlier, less commanding.

As I understand it, the reason for singling out daughters is that girls historically have had few work opportunities. By exposing them to workplaces, we encourage them to consider jobs other than traditionally female ones like phone operators.
