Yeah but she's the one asking for the gruel. However she did change from the ghost to the orphan, so she might change again.

Huh. This strip makes me think of a fond memory with my mom.

I had just eating a serving of something or other, and I asked her, "Please, sir... may I have some more?" I didn't expect her to go with it, because she's usually very serious, but she bit. Fun times, fun times.

Gruel = warm or semi-hot thin cereal (not necessarily with milk), generally oats. Let's see a fox eat THAT.
