Hee hee.
I don't think I need to point out that they shouldn't know about storm troopers in the "Old" West. =3

Now, does the marvelously funny anachronism indicate that Llewellyn is playing to his audience by using modern analogies and references within the dialogue...

...Or that this is one of those stories that he's making up? (Though, if I'm right about where this is going, the pie-shooter might possably account for evidence that he isn't making this one up, or might just mean that he made it recently and since he had it in hand and is simply encorporating it into his fictional historic (mis?)adventure. All assuming I'm right about where this is going, that is)

Those aren't mutually exclusive :)

The original screenplay says "stormtrooper", no space. :ninja:
INTERIOR: REBEL BLOCKADE RUNNER.

The nervous Rebel troopers aim their weapons. Suddenly a
tremendous blast opens up a hole in the main passageway and a
score of fearsome armored spacesuited stormtroopers make their
way into the smoke-filled corridor.

Either DCS just detonated her anachronism bomb, or a Delorean is involved. Either way, this is good stuff.

Also, now that Raine has had both this part and been the catalyst for Millie's ringtone epiphany I wonder if she'll just have a string of random cameos throughout the series. Not that I'd mind; it seems like she'd make a good character for that kind of thing.

I have heard from many sources about many things that appear to have influenced Star Wars, from westerns to The Wizard of Oz. It almost comes out looking like a melting pot. Maybe the old West had storm troopers with typically poor aim as well.

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

...

Actually, the Star Wars story is supposed to have happened "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." It might still be possible for the story to reach them before the movies. The reputation of an Imperial Storm Trooper's aim probably travels very fast. As for the Starbucks cup... they do seem to be popping up everywhere, don't they?

Okay, maybe that is all just nonsense, but that was the goal, was it?

This may shed some light on why Stormtroopers dont aim all that well. It could be the helmet,...or just general ineptitude.

Have a look.

Mhm.... just because the Original Trilogy showed Stormtroopers as a bunch of idiots with 0 aim, doesn't mean they actually were so useless. The truth about real Stormtroopers is that they were an elite, well trained and feared division. Read some of SW books and/or comics and you'll know what I'm talking about :))

Anyway, cool strip

Virago: Movies are canon. Nothing outside of them is, I believe, although LucasArts will, from time to time, work their games into the larger picture of the Extended Universe to fit.

Storm Troopers weren't invented for Star Wars. In fact, the term Imperial Storm Troopers could refer to WW1 German Empire Shock Troops.

Yeah, I never got why people cling to Star Wars novels like they do. It's just glorified fanfiction people get paid for. Well, how they're supposed to fit in plot continuity at least.

Also, I highly doubt that's Raine Dog in this series of strips.
