I actually modified the X's because they looked too much like K's, then uploaded the earlier version by mistake. Fixed now.

I roll my eyes at the pun, but it is 'punny'. *collective groan*

Ped Xing is used commonly in the US for crosswalks. So, therein lies the pun. And the monk got hit in the crosswalk.

I rather like traffic signs. "No Hazmats" always sounded vaguely Yiddish to me. And did you ever notice how the "Don't Walk" signs leave out the apostrophe? What are we to do, walk on our teeth?

When I first saw the name "Ped Xing" I thouhgt, "Dave the Barbarian" from that poet. Glad I was wrong.

I realized the "Xing=crossing=sign" bit at first, but I didn't see where Ped came in. I've never seen a sign that says "Ped Xing". I guess it stands for pedestrian?

I bet this would have been hilarious had I not thought about it so much...
