Hahaha, poor Millie. So far this whole trip has been a big let down for her. I'm sure she'll find some mischief to get herself into. ^_~

Nunchuks.

At the White House, there's a sign, with those red circle-with-a-slash-through-it things over stylized silhouettes of things you can't bring in. One of them is nunchuks.

It's fascinated me since the first time I visited the place (I think I was 13) that this would suggest that at least once, someone actually did bring nunchuks when they visited the White House.

That should go on a "You're know you're in America when..." list.

"You know you're in America when you see a sign specifically banning nunchucks."

Incidently, they don't have a problem with some types of knives. Not a large blade, but when he was touring the white house, a physics teacher of mine asked if there'd be a problem with the knife he always carries (as a tool rather than a weapon. Sharpening pencils, that sort of thing. This was revealed when a friend accidently forgot to take his swiss army knife out of his bag after a camping trip...), the person who asked looked at him like he was being rediculous.

Granted, I'm not sure when that was.

I was serious when I said Furbys.
I don't know if it's on the sign, but there was a law passed somewhere stating that "Furbys" Were not permited inside government buildings because they can repeat information.

Also: Nunchaku, nunchuck, and numchuck are all correct spellings in case someone mentioned it.

So it's not because they're damned annoying pieces of junk?
