There is nothing scary about the D.C. Metro.

What about the passengers at rush hour?

One of the perks about blending into the crowd, people who might want to mug you won't notice you.

And if they just pick someone from the crowd at random...

Then you best make sure you're in a large crowd.

There is nothing scary about the D.C. Metro.

A decade ago, I invoked my past self to write a poem entitled A Child's Ride on the Metro. It emphasized all the scary aspects, starting with the long escalators in the concrete cave. Nevertheless, I never found it all that scary once I actually entered the train.

I've been on the Washington DC Metro. I found it more modern and nicer than the Boston T (ie subway).

Of course it seems right after I got back Boston started modernizing their ticketing system to match Washington DC's.

i miss the old styles of boston's T... the charlie tickets look like your goin through airport security...
