It bugs me when people say that football players, or other athletes get special attention. I'm sure this is the situation at some places, but generally student athletes are held to a higher standard then other students because if they don't get high enough grades or avoid trouble then they are kicked off of the team. There may be schools where they will cheat to let the student play, but I am sure it is far from the norm.

Not to mention, at my current college, there is a GREAT need for more parking lots. But guess who got a brand new practice field? Football team.

This has to do more with money I'm guessing then actual love for football players. Games make alot of money for the school, as do parking tickets. At my school there is a lack of parking and it is believed this is due to tickets from those who have to illegaly park. It may also have to do with location, is the field located near the buildings students on campus use? My brother played football and they practiced nowhere near the actual campus.

All I know is that if I graduate from high school as valedictorian I'll still get less money in scholarships than our football team's quarterback.

No, the field is right on campus. And near a parking garage and lot I believe. So try again. A specialty student group, whether it be anything from a football team down to a little club, should always come second to the normal student body, regardless of how much money it makes. With how much money normal students are forced to pay (and it is rather rediculous), we deserve a fair supply of parking spaces.

^ It is unfair then if it is that close. The best way to get attention to the problem would probably be to form a group to discuss the parking problems with school officials and propose solutions. The reason clubs and groups get what they want from the school is because they are vocal about what they want and ask for it in an organized fashion.

That depends entirely on the schools involved and talent of the football player. I've never even known a quarterback from my high school who got a scholership. My brother did, but it was hardly anything, and he was a very good player (He was a starter at the college for three years, and they made it to the playoffs and at that time it had been something like 6 years since they hadn't been to the playoffs) So alot of that is dependent on situations. I will agree that pro players make way more money then they should. But that is based off of how rare it is for a person to be talented enough to make it to the pros.

Four of our team's players have already been offered full-ride scholarships at respectable schools in Ohio.
