Wait...Stephen falling in love with his female counterpart?!?
You MIGHT want to rephrase that just a bit. It reminds me of a ST:TNG fic written by Stephen Ratliff called "M & M" where the female protagonist, Marrissa, meets a male version of herself, Marcus, from another reality. Why is this so bad?
It's an NC-17 rated fic. I'll let you do the math.N

*ahem*
Counterpart. Noun. (Koun-ter-pahrt)
1. a person or thing closely resembling another, esp. in function: Our president is the counterpart of your prime minister.
2. a copy; duplicate.
3. Law. a duplicate or copy of an indenture.
4. one of two parts that fit, complete, or complement one another.
In the case of Stephen and Stephanie the first and fourth definition apply. Stephanie shared a similar function to Stephen, in representing computery nerds. And it could be argued by less lazy people that they complemented one another.
So take your dirty mind and encylopediac memory of all fanfics and just go Marvin K. Mooney.
