Ah yes, the Ken Singshow approach. (I'd show a sample, but that sort of thing is usually Burning Sheep's schtick. That's not the end. She's squeezing her tail at about the point where the black begins, which is a little hard to make out with the cotton and her black paw. The end is on the viewer's left. Her tail isn't black on the end
As for it coming out of the middle of her back, well, that may be a little high, but at least it doesn't appear to be coming out of a certain orifice. (That happens sometimes in furry cartoons.)

I'm not sure what you mean; that topmost patch of orange, while colored correctly, is her side (where her overalls dip down), not part of her tail. Now that I've seen it colorized I think I've caught a mistake in panel 3. Her tail isn't black on the end, and it almost looks like it's coming out the middle of her back.
The problem is that with the wool and all, it's a bit too busy for Octan (and me as well) to understand what the black fur is and what the orange fur is, since they don't look like they're connected in our minds. Of course, it's not THAT important for the plot or anything.
pants jesus
DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Ah, yes, I see it now. The line is just a lot more diagonal than I'm used to seeing her back be. She must be leaning slightly forward, and it's just hard to tell behind all that black cotton.I'm not sure what you mean; that topmost patch of orange, while colored correctly, is her side (where her overalls dip down), not part of her tail. Now that I've seen it colorized I think I've caught a mistake in panel 3.
