Makes me think of sentences written to demonstrate semantics by its absence, like "The abstract sheep wore beauteous arguments" or the impeccable "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously." I can hardly wait to see where this goes.

Well, remember that when someone is "dark and stormy", it usually means they are in a bad mood. Maybe the hippo balloon represents a country with an inflated ego prone to be asleep at matters that are most imprtant (basically ignores important details or something), and "it was a dark and stormy" represents how a country fights for the wrong ideals zealously... i.e the United States... Or it could just be Millies randomness <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
