And Millie snaps! But considering the situation, it's fully justified self-defense.
I got bullied a lot in middle school, and only by physically fighting back could I finally rid myself of them, eliciting some cires of "Oh, snap!" from my would-be tormentors when I went on the offensive. I guess "snap" would be a good word for it. After that, the bullying lessened greatly, and I even became friends with a few of them, oddly enough. Perhaps they learned their lesson from dealing with me and reformed? Or were they just trying not to annoy the crazy person who snapped? I don't think I will ever really know. But even so, I had to resort to attacking them to get them to leave me alone. I had solved a problem through violence. Is that a good message to send to children?
It worked, but it was an extreme measure to resort to for something so basic as my dignity as a human being. There should have been an easier way.

It is a mistake to fancy that horror is associated inextricably with darkness, silence, and solitude. I found it in the glare of midafternoon, in the clangour of a metropolis...

Astro> gforce's smiles can cure cancer in kittensgforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

I've got mixed feelings about this strip. On the one hand, it's amusing in a way due to the shocking way she reacts. It's unexpected, and thus entertaining. On the other hand, it hits incredibly close to home for me.
It feels very strange to see Millie look so helpless, so victimized, as it's not a side of her I ever expected to see. Yes, she throws a punch, but the fact that someone managed to frustrate her to that level is just... gah, I can't figure out how to put it in words. I guess I'm just saying that panel three is among the most heartbreaking panels I've seen in O&M so far. I can't really describe it any better unfortunately.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you.
I love Ozy's expression in panel 5, as I've never seen him so flabbergasted/afraid before.
I also agree that it's hard to put this strip to words, and that Millie in panel 3 is very... I dunno... meaningful, and very sad at the same time (obviously like, crying sad).
it's a great strip, showing some return fire to Jeremy. I just wonder how he'll respond...

It has so much pathos not only because of that, but also because suddenly Millie is very much a scared 10-year-old girl. She doesn't usually remind us that she's a little girl, but as soon as she starts crying in frustration, the reader is all, "HEY, THAT BIG GUY IS TORMENTING AN INNOCENT LITTLE GIRL!!!!"
There's nothing that pulls the heartstrings more than a scared little girl.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!
