I suppose it's like happiness or originality, in that allegedly you'll have more success getting it if you don't reach for it. Trying not to get it, however, is all too effective.

I would argue its the characters behind the guns that make them cool in that movie with an addendum tacked on that shouting out that you're a dork isn't the way to coolity either.

In the third panel, I think this is about as supportive and encouraging Felicia can get in her own strange way. She's certainly not being spiteful. Felicia has been more than merely annoying in this storyline so far.
