Oddly this reminded me of the Mr. Bean sketch where he has to dress a chair in his own clothes to be able to watch television. Long story.

If I had a balloon I'd try this. Maybe I'll just use my head.

But I can't remember why he did that. Was it that he was scared of the TV or something?

He bought the television but couldn't get it to show a picture. He found out out that it only did so when he wasn't looking at it. Then he realised if he dressed up a chair it would fool the television. He took off everything (he got the television's cardboard box as cover) and it worked. I can't remember the ending exactly. I think he had just got it working when the lights went out.
