Only today did I learn that the "occasional table" was a pun as well. I had never heard the term and thought that the whole joke was the silliness.
Same here!
Furries? Are they the nutters that pretend to be animals and draw humans that look like animals? Christ, I sink my head into my paws... -Rooster

I had to look it up too, but I did that a while ago...

I feel like this pun should be making me groan, but I though it was really funny as well

So if you leave your wallet on that table, are you pretty much screwed until it comes back again?

Maybe it just falls to the floor.

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Ah, the wonders of paronomasic furniture... :)

For those of you who are wondering, the large brown patch on the floor in the third lounge is where I kept the coffee table. And the small room in my study in which I keep my important papers and correspondence is, naturally, a bureau.

Oh. And -please- be quiet in the library; the reading desks and chairs have complained.
Just a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction, taking every wrong direction on his lonely way back home.

(And there are a lot of wrong directions on that lonely way back home.)

I didn't get the pun until I saw "Periodic Table" on this forum (taken out of the comic). Not a bad pun. In fact, I prefer it to the "occasional table".

CodeCat and FictitiousSpoon, see here for answers. DCS no longer identifies as female, although he use to.

And in order to save on confusion for my poor little mind, I'm thinking of starting to refer to most people I know online as 'xe'.

You know, I'd expect a periodic table to change its period... (say, from victorian to art deco to some other style, etc.)
Women have periods, I don't know if tables do.
I meant time period (as defined by style), not menstruation.
I know. It's called a "joke"
