Well, it's got to happen. They can't stay in elementray school forever. I wonder what middle school has in store for them.
At the same time I wonder if the change would effect the comic in a bad way.

Technically, they COULD, but that'd be pulling a "Family Circus".

Precocious children inevitably find transition difficult. Should allow for interesting Ozy and Millying.

How would it really change it besides a different setting and new characters? Unless he decides to age them as well, where they are and what situation is completely perspective. Of course, at that age they do go through rapid growth sports, but the real question seems to me is if the art of the storyline is what draws readers.

I definitely went for the second choice. I love delving into difference things so a different scene for O & M is right up my ally.

I went for the second choice as well, because I want to see them head for a new horizon in a new level of school. I would love to see it progress, as most comics tend not to, which is fine, but it's cool to see one finally move further on.
