How "Ozy & Millie" helped save my job...

Postby Derrick Fish » Tue Nov 27, 2007 3:05 pm

A funny thing happened at my office today. Now, to give a little background info, it's important to note that I DO have a day job aside from my comic strip work at a restaurant design and PR firm. And TODAY, we had a potential new client coming in that we had to impress. He own's a restaurant/bar called "Llywelyn’s Pub".

The problem: We had a BIG digital display in our lobby with a screen welcoming the owner of "Llywen’s Pub".

THANKFULLY, my years of reading this fabulous comic allowed me to instantly notice the mis-spelling of a certain dragon's name and the problem was fixed before the client arrived.

Proof, once again, that comics can save the world... or at least a few jobs. (Okay, mine was never at risk here... but I sure got some brownie points.)

*thunderous applause*

Although, is it "Llywelyn" or "Llewellyn"? Doesn't really matter tho. Nice catch!
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

Well, a quick google search let me know the existing restaurant spelled it "Llywelyn’s Pub"... but at LEAST knew is wasn't "Llywen".

Yeah, I'd imagine the client wouldn't be particularly impressed by a gross misspelling of that nature.

Define Cynical officially awards you with a shiny, a flamethrower, the Thingy (Until somebody decides to randomly steal it from you), and whatever else we can think of to throw in :)
This signature may spontaneously combust at any given moment. Make sure there's a fresh can of gasoline handy.

Good job! Was it a high-profile client?

I am reminded of Llewellyn every day at school because of our logo.
