And DCS had sent out an email saying he was going to abandon O&M for two years, because of school, and I was wondering what you would do if it actually happened?

Well, first of all, I would doubt that school alone would keep DCS from updating O&M for two years; therefore, I would suspect he had other reasons which he did not feel obliged to divulge. His long hiatuses happen often enough that I would not be altogether surprised, but this one would finally worry me not just about his emotional health (he gets depressed easily) but about his ability to keep his word. Maybe he couldn't admit, even to himself, that he was giving up O&M indefinitely because it just wasn't in his interest to perpetuate his 7+-year-old cartoon. Aside from that, I would worry about my own ability either to wait that long without losing it or to remember to look when the two years were up.<br><br>OTOH, if he made the announcement on or around April 1st, my worries would abate in a matter of seconds.

I'd be as dissapointed as when Calvin and Hobbes ended and hopefully as understanding. I would then fill the void with Ozy and Millie. ... <!--emo&:o--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... s/ohmy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='ohmy.gif' /><!--endemo--> Wait a minute! <!--emo&:cry:--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... s/cry2.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cry2.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'd try to buy the books, but... the seem to have been out of print for... quite some time now.

I'd be sad, but I'd move on.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

For months they only had the first book in stock, now since a few weeks they also have 3 and 5, but 2 and 4 are still out of stock. I sent them an email asking when they would be back in stock, but they haven't responded yet.

Yes, Plan 9 has the tendency to be, to put it nicely, very inefficient due to their incredibly short print runs. I just got book 5 yessterday, which I ordered in <b><i>DECEMBER!</i></b><br><br>(Yes, I'm slightly bitter.)

Back ordering does take awhile. If they have it in stock you should get it farily quickly. If not, don't hold your breath. Its not medically advisable.

Jon tried that one once, on an old girlfriend, to force her to go out with him.....he lasted two panels before fainting while Garfield just watched.....
