I've seen it spelled Ozzie before. Was it spelled like that, or do people just assume that's the correct spelling?

ozzie is the standard spelling. ozy is for ozymandious, wheras the other is for oswald, or something else and puts a y or ie on the end of ozz, and ozy just takes the first three letters
