Well a friend of mine showed me a strip, and I was hooked like a trout on a line with hook on a boat with a goat wearing a coat...Peace Out!

Well, as I've said, I'd been defeated in a Skulltag tournament the night before (50-16), and I was just idly browsing when I saw the site listed under the hosted stuff. I knew I'd seen "those two" somewhere before, and then I proceeded to read the entire archive in one day. Does that make me weird?

Than, say . . .?

That's what happened to me; when I saw the cover of <i>Authentic Banana Dye</i>, I remembered that I'd seen it back when I ordered another book from them.

Actually, it was at the 3dRealms site, where they had a list of "Duke Nukem in the media" sightings.

I actually knew about Ozy and Millie before it was online, because I've been friends with David since we were in the 6th grade together. I have a signed portrait of myself at age 12 drawn by David, as well as some random sketches. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> I need to get them framed.<br><br>Though a much more interesting story is a mutual friend of mine and David's, who is the Bass player on several of DCS's musical recordings, used to work in a bail bonds agency. He was looking at the O&M website when a bounty hunter came up behind him, you know, one of those 7' tall 300 lbs all muscle ex-Navy SEAL types with several weapons strapped on to him... <br>The bounty hunter says something to the effect of " Oh my god! You read Ozy and Millie! That's my favorite comic, I read it every day!" <br>My friend Jim, a small wiry guy who works in collections, says "Yeah... a friend of mine draws it."<br>The bounty hunter FREAKS out and pummels poor Jim with all kinds of questions about what 'DC' is like, how long he's known him, etc. etc. From that day on, this guy revered Jim with awe for how cool he thought he was that he knew DC SIMPSON!<br><br>I love that story. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It just goes to show that O&M appeals to a wide range of people. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Holy crap, that's bloody interesting.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Well, I was shown it by a friend a while back, though I didn't pay much attention at the time (I believe DCS was in the middle of his "commenting on old strips" phase). I had a second look a while later, after I saw a link on a site recommending it. Well, that got me hooked, and I spent the next few days reading through the archive.
