You'll probably do a better job of the cuts than I did. But one problem will remain: that dratted harmonica cutting in and out. (At least I think it's a harmonica. It could be an accordian but I'd be pretty shocked if someone told me it is!) Oh, and see if you can do a better job than I did of cutting off the tag ending.

What program are you people using to make the edits? I'm almost thinking Audiocity, but I don't know if that thing has any good snipping tools. (I've only used it to make "Warble" song remixes).

First Ozy, calmly strumming his guitar, and then Millie, who GRABS his top-hat and runs off without hesitation as soon as she's drawn and colored in!

Also, we'd have to come up with things for the characters in the background to be doing...

Maybe Principal Vine running into Ms. Sorkowitz while carrying a huge stack of papers as O&M run by in the school hallway?

Or maybe Timulty playing in the sandbox as they run through the park?

And of course, Llewellyn just stis there, smiling and calmly smoking his pipe even as two fox children run rampant around him.

I'll try to work that in. Right now I've got a rough idea of how the sequence should go. What I did was write a sort of sequential list of the little things that go on. One of them is that Felicia and two of her friends are jumping rope and Millie jumps through and Ozy gets tangled up and falls down. I'll post the whole storyboard when I've finished drawing it.

Quote: (Kles @ Oct 23 2004, 01:34 AM)

You displaced the song by putting the end of the first stanza on the end of the third stanza.

That is evil. I can get it pretty close but I just can't ever get it right on. It's beginning to become quite annoying.

Trying to make a professional-quality edit from a professional-quality song is like trying to make a new "Ozy and Millie" comic by cutting and pasting the parts of another one: You can never get quite what you want, and the good quality of the original makes the mistakes even more obvious.

This looks to be getting a little motion behind it. Good stuff.
The end is nigh!
Well... I didn't see a rule against reviving old topics (it was actually encouraged, if I read it correctly), and I happen to have a copy of the music video... so I ripped the audio out and threw an edit together with Creative WaveStudio.

It's a bit longer than the other copy that was here, but that's because I left the outtro (I guess Ozy gets his hat back and goes back to strumming or summat). The first edit isn't spot on, but it'll do.

---

Random comments that probably aren't necessary: first, the music video is a parade scene and there's an accordionist, so I'm guessing that is an accordion, not a harmonica. Also, the "f-word" is edited out so it kinda sounds like "fk" - not bleeped, but not replaced with another word either.

---

Oh, almost forgot the link. http://phieta27.tripod.com/om_theme.mp3 Tripod is picky, so you'll probably have to right click ----> Save As.

I could practically picture the opening sequence of an O&M television show (unlikey as that is) as it was playing;

It starts with Ozy happily strumming the song's opening refrain on his guitar... suddenly Millie runs in and grabs his top-hat, starting the vocals. They then proceed to chase each other through Millie's house, through the schoolyard, through Llewellyn's house, through the land under the couch, until Ozy finally catches Millie and the whole cast stands for a group shot under the titles, an edited version of "Minority" playing in the background the whole time.

The two top ones that remind me of Ozy and Millie are:
MxPx -- It's Alright

Ben Folds -- There's always someone cooler than you.

Also:
MxPx -- The Wonder Years
(a.k.a. MxPx -- Life In General)

MxPx -- The Oposite

MxPx -- Responsiblity
(obvious theme for Millie)

Simple Plan -- Welcome to my life
(It seems to rotate through the various emotions of the characters)

Simple Plan -- Crazy
(Just sounds like a song Ozy and Millie would sing)

Simple Plan -- Jump
(about escapism in general)

Avery reminds me of:
MxPx -- The Next Big Thing
To be honest, I don't think there are any songs that remind me of Ozy and Millie (except for songs that have been featured in the strip, such as Enter Sandman by Metallica).
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I disagree with the cutting of the lyrics.

"I pledge allegiance to the underworld" sounds like the sort of thing Millie would declare for "Shock Value" To innocuise it for those who object you could make it that in the process of running arund with Ozy's hat, she ran in front of Beau Vine making an announcement and stole the microphone, or Isolde broadcasting the news. IN fact I like the Isolde version better.

Does anyone else remember the "One nation Underwear" strip?

ANd can someone explain the significance of "Your Body is a Wonderland" cos I just don't get it
LLEWELLYN: And surely you've noticed that a great deal of what I do is extremely strange.
