Ozy and Millie is perhaps on of the most sophisticated strips around; Garfield et al command a different sort of respect.

I also rather like VGCats and they are a fine example of the diversity of the playing field. VGCats is funny (to me) because it makes fun of certain topical subjects, namely computer games. It's also another example of how different artistic styles can be.

VGCats is good, but they only do video games, really. A more diverse of poking-fun-at's would rank it higher on my list.

I sense a distinct lack of Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County, and perhaps the Far Side. I am sorry, but you fail...

I am actually more of a fan of these comics then the ones of old.

I DID say "IMO!", which meant that's my favorites, which, you may or may not understand, might not be the same as yours. So, how could I "fail", as you put it? It's my *PERSONAL* opinion, understand?
Calvin and Hobbes was okay, but I wouldn't rate it in my top 10. Same as Far Side, most of the time which I didn't get the joke.

Peanuts is my all time favourite comic as well.

And whenever I view the extreme popularity of "Peanuts," I feel like the kid who saw a naked emperor when everyone else was complimenting his clothes. Even the strips from its heyday are rarely better than quaint IMO.

Personally, I like it that the comic sticks to one topic. (It does, however, poke fun at various other electronics, such as the iPod. I love this strip, and often reference it when I'm discussing brand loyalties.)

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Heh, a ' Top 10 ' really is far too limiting for the amount of extraordinary comics out there.

How about a "Top 100"?

Then you might be able to get most of the good ones, still skipping many 100's of excellent stories in the process.

I read twenty some comics already. If I read 100, I'd never get anything done.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

I don't think all the comics I've ever seen add up to 100. I'm not saying "heard of" since I wouldn't be able to judge comics I hadn't seen into that hypothetical list.

Maybe. My opinion is that from the mid 50's until the early 80's Peanuts kept up a very high quality of general humour. To have gone that long without major drops in the quality is amazing.

I currently read less than 100 comics (web and newspaper combined) at any given time...probably somewhere closer to 40. And some of them I'd rather not name, since they're mature-rated, and I don't want to show any kids that come here them.
