Well, we already know Ms. Mudd is a vegetarian (unless David's changed this).

But I always looked at the food chain as not an important factor in the comic, I didn't dwell on it.

I've always felt it was much better not to think about these sort of things. And anything Millie says when half asleep is probably nonsense anyway, so...

Heh, I never really gave this issue a thought, nor did I really find it neccessary. And I have on occasion read DCS' Essays too, they are rather intriguing indeed. Of course, we all rant and rave about all sorts of things, but that is beside the point...

On a side note, you could always just read his comments on I Drew This, however I believe those are generally more political than a normal rant would. Still, it's DCS's thoughts if you want to give it a look.

I check out I Think This, like Allison I like reading other's views, most of the time anyway.

No, I don't mind reading opposing views but I do draw the line at extreme matters like pro-racism (to give an example).

I don't like reading strong opinions incase I get "pulled in" or something...
I'm one of those people who should do their civic duty and stay home on the election day (if that wasn't illegal in Aus).

I thought about saying something about this too. Simpson says the old essays express stronger views than he has now, but frankly they're a lot more dissenter-friendly that what he writes now. Which makes sense; they were written for a mixed audience, whereas "I Think This" is clearly written for his fellow liberals.

For the record, though, I would like to say that those essays really had an effect on me. Up until I discovered "Ozy and Millie," I had a considerable beef with liberalism in general. And not without cause -- most of the liberal commentary I was reading came in the form of Letters to the Editor in my local paper, which are known for lacking in the tact department. Compared to that, everything Simpson said was a breath of fresh air. A great deal of it won me over even. Seriously. I'm sure this will come as a shock to Simpson, who seems to be under the impression that he has no ability to change people's minds about stuff.

This is one point on which I think he will be very pleased to find someone disagrees with him.

He avoids having anyone eat meat, but also seemingly anyone other than a few specified characters being declared vegetarians openly.
Let me see if I can find it...

Huh. These essays seem to have dissappeared?

Anyway, I think he said something about not wanting to get into that whole thing. He would often accidentally get people very upset for reasons he never could understand. I think I've done that once or twice to him in a few of my emails to him that probably sounded overly accusational in tone on his end. I feel it's better for many of us to learn to be more selective of our wording on many topics. DCS has sure improved on the matter, and I wish I could be more sure of this myself.

He seemingly surpresses that rationality of choosing words carefully on I Drew This, however when "preaching to the converted" it's OK to let you're gaurd down. I rarely send I Drew This cartoons to any of my Republican freinds (the two ones that are still Republicans anyways), unless I'm specifically testing their openminded nature. Speaking of which, there was a recent interview on CSPAN I want to get the web archive of and send to one of them for comments. I wonder which one it would spawn the better debate with . . . (Licking his right canine tooth in anticipation of conflict)
