Any of you's seen the comic strip (I have no idea what comic it was) where Calvin's Uncle Max was revealed to be the same actor as Lyman?

Anywho, I think Garfield is unfunny because he has LOST the ability to stand up. Or move at all, for that matter. And for what it's worth, I know of one paper -- in Lancaster, PA -- that pulled Garfield four years ago and replaced it with Get Fuzzy.

Careful, you might succeed where Llewellyn failed!

(Astonished, I mean. Not by the artistic and intellectual prowess, though, but by the fact that I think I've actually READ this one... in an old book from the early 80's. Only with Garfield saying something else in the last panel. Not sure what it is, though. But it was definitely something more original, than, well, "bum".)

I agree that Garfield was very funny twenty years ago. Being German and being unable to find newer Garfield books at my comic store, I never had been able to catch a glimpse of the quality of current Garfield strips.

That doesn't seem to be one of the world's most horrible historic desaster, seeing this one. Shame I'm not getting American newspapers, so I will not get to see them unless they're published here.

(Right. But since you can never know for sure, I want to say that I'm just like you. Not in my being German, but in my being completely fanatic about one of the most intellectually stimulating and humourous comic strips I've ever seen.

(Given the fact I've not even read "Calvin and Hobbes" nor "Peanuts" (Yeah, in Germany, those things can actually happen), this may not mean too much, for I am, therefore, not an expert in any way.)

There is only problem I have: This is the first English comic strip that actually showed me that having an "A" in English at German schools isn't quite enough to understand ANY English text you encounter. You never stop learning, do you?

Anyway, I want to thank Dave Simpson very, very much for drawing Ozy and Millie, and want to end this senseless babbling right NOW.

Thanks for listening.
Back home in Germany, I always wonder what to write in my signature. Here, I can at least tell you I'm German, and that any mistakes I make in spelling, grammar or other matters are completely natural considering I'm not speaking my mother tongue here.

I like to play Chess, by the way. Welcome to the boards! Don't be surprised if somebody offers you a coupon, or a rutabega, or something like that.
