I would like to see the characters age. I relate to Millie and it makes me feel immature that she is only 10 and I am twice that. I think the characters have personalities that dont' have to change much as they age and aging will put them in new situations.

If O&M characters age, the comic would definitely lose something. But, seeing DC's talents throughout the strip, I haven't a doubt he could find something new to replace what was lost.

Someone earlier mentioned 'Its Walky,' I could really see Millie growing up to have a personality very much like Walky, without all that hidden angst and homocidal rage and all that...

They only aged once and that was during the big style change. The only the thing that's aging is the the drawing style. O&M will never be another day older. Dave will almost completely confirm that.

I dunno. The comic would go downhill if the characters aged to like, college. But then again, it would be cool to see what the characters are like in the future. So yeah, flash forwards would be the way to go.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Hmm... but how would you converge that into a story line?

I think aging the characters would pretty much wreck the strip. It works fine at their current ages.

That being said, a "flashforward" would be interesting to see.
Yea, it'd be odd to see Ozy and Millie in high school, although the strip already has them acting like high schoolers. A flashforward would be funny, though.

you think this comic has an age-intelligence congruity problem? check out Hdofu's avatar/sig.
I've read some of "Fuzzy Things." Haven't read the whole archive (or even close to half), but from what I've seen, you're right about the age/intellegence incongruity. Decent strip, too, but kinda confusing the first time you read it.
