I used to think he was a wolf, but then a friend showed me some pictures of arctic fox kits which were absolute ringers for how I draw Ozy. This convinced me. It has also resulted in some confusion.

Right now there's no question. Ozy is a fox, but what was he at the very beggining of the strip? Did he just change species in the middle of things? And why isn't he white in winter?

Actually, he changed species at the BEGINNING of things. When your character hasn't been widely seen yet, that's the perfect time to experiment with things character-wise. He was esentially "still in the womb.....mind."
And yes, he was a wolf. I don't know what species, but he WAS a wolf. Hmm, story-wise, d'ya suppose he was reincarnated as a fox kit? It IS the same mind, just a different body.
On an off-story, in my comic, I decided that I preferred the main character to have a little sister rather than a little brother... so I'm going to have a comic where the little boy gets a sex change operation. I know I could just change the character, considering I haven't even drawn any comics with him yet(except some sketched ones that may never get finished), but it's fun to add a sex change operation to a comic.
Now all I have to do is actually draw some comics.

They don't really look like the kinda fox Ozy is, at all.
Ozy doesn't have those dark patches, or the same lines, or the same ears.
But aren't they all cute 'n' everyfing? Awww...
Well, I've had a good look at some arctic fox pics, and though I have been unable to find one on which the right colours match with the right ears and things, I have found ones which have great features individually, so I couldn't disagree with him being arctic at all.
