I actually had a chance to MEET the guy; Did YOU?
Yes, I spoke with him for over an hour. He was amazingly easy to talk to in real life despite being so famous. I often wonder how many other famous people are like that... probably more than we think, to be honest. At the end of the day, people are people.

He also had a nifty sense of humor!
I've also met Ray Stevens, Sean Connery, Tracy Hickman, Margaret Weis, Harry Blackstone and Richard Simmons. They are all really nice people and if you didn't know they were famous, you wouldn't know it from talking to them.

AAH! You've met lots of famous people! I've met *counts* three, and two of them are only famous-ish (Mary Richardson and Dan Bricklin).

Only famous person I "met" was Cal Ripken Jr, though that was at a book signing he did, and I did see Barbara Bush, when she went my school back in 1991 for a conference of some sort (saw her leaving to go back to DC, she was heading to the car, and the lane from the door to the car was closed by Secret Service, so didn't get to shake her hand or anything).

I'm laughing so hard right now at what this thread has turned into
