I had a dream about an old black woman in a corn field and now I have a strong urge to travel to Nebraska.

Two confirmed cases here in good ol' Lowell.

And no I'm not one of them.

I have a strong urge to travel to Nebraska.
This is the first time these words have ever been written.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

But but but but! The Swine Flu has breached the Texas and reached all the way to New York. Pretty soon it'll reach Canada and then ... GREENLAND!
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

There's already two cases in the Vancouver area. Today I was at the clinic cause I have strep throat, and the doctor asked if I'd been to Mexico recently and I started to laugh but that hurt like pants.

OK. pants it. I lied. It's drum and bass. What you gonna do?

Flu strains like the Swine Flu (influenza A H1N1) are highly unpredictable. It could turn out like SARS (not a flu virus), who knows. (Which was contained successfully, either by good planning, or virtue of the virus's pandemic impotence.)

Or, it could turn out like the Spanish Flu of 1918, a true pandemic which killed 2.5-5.0% of the world's population.

It could turn out to be full of crap.

Or it could turn out to be like 1918.

Do you want to find out by not taking full precautionary measures?
Scurry, scurry, Scurryous! You might just be the murriest. You certainly are the furriest! Hurry! Scurry! Scurryous!

The first death in the US caused by the swine flu happened yesterday in Houston. But I don't think it should count because I heard that the boy was from Mexico City.

This didn't scare me until I did the math.

(I work for a medical publishing company, and we are in a MAJOR RUSH to get a swine flu topic published, so I need to stay late tonight and make sure it works.)
