I was thinking about how everyone says Obama's the new Kennedy when I came across this: a 1976 drawing by Duncan Macpherson, one of the finest editorial cartoonists of the 20th century.

It must be quite a distorting caricature to require a nametag even back then.

Here's another one: remember all those Chinese soldiers in Beijing? Remember how everyone was always talking about that?

Well, at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, 16,000 members of the Canadian Army were tasked to protect 12,000 athletes.

Something, huh?

This won't help, but at first glance I thought the right-most soldier's gun was a propeller and he was gliding through the air somehow.

Some people here don't care about this crap. There's a reason there is a forum for IDT.

I don't see what the problem is with discussing politics on here. If you don't like it or don't care about it, just get out of the discussion, shut the hell up and stop throwing a hissy fit.

Low tolerance right now. Loooowwww.

Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...
