If this makes DCS go back to the way she was back when we liked her, then this is a Good Thing.
Amen to that

True, and if DCS can actually hold some form of steady job with steady income, then that is indeed better. Especially if she pays her taxes properly.

Interesting, O&M site is timing out, probably getting a lot of traffic from Amazon...
Is it going into the papers? I thought it was grabbed by a book publisher. I looked up Andrews McMeel and it looked to me like they only made book collections of comic strips but didn't actually contribute to the newspapers' comic section. So it is probably going to be online anyway.
The contest rules clearly state newspaper syndication AND comic strip collection book publishing as the rewards.
Especially if she pays her taxes properly.
I'm sensing I missed something.

Nothing specific, to my knowledge, I just picture the first statement of income she gets, she'll look at the tax rate and bitch about high taxes, despite wanting all of those social programs she's been pushing for her entire adult life.

Oh come on, even you can see that that was pantsless unnecessary and entirely irrelevant.

I'm pretty sure DCS is aware of how taxes work.

No, actually. I'm fairly certain the entire time frame I've been a part of this forum, DCS hasn't held a steady job, or had a steady income of his own.

So? Even if that is true (which I don't think it is), why bring it up in this thread, except as a rather ill-disguised means of stating your political opinion? "Oh hey, DCS won a comic thing!" "Oh she's such a socialism-loving liberal hippie who never pays any tax, man she's going to be so annoyed when she has to pay tax, socialism causes unnecessary burden on the taxpayer!"

On topic, Girl is not a bad comic (mainly because it's Ozy and Millie chopped up and de-furried) and it didn't have particularly great competition either - so I can see the logic behind this.

More like posting disgust with DCS as a whole, rather than the political opinion. And I'm fairly certain the job thing is true, that the S.O. has been the sole provider between the two, hence the occasional "starving artist art auction"s that are held (and 'starving artist' was DCS's descriptor of it in his journal postings, not my words).

We probably won't see any Raine Dog updates
then this is a Good Thing.
Come on, you know it had to be done...
More like posting disgust with DCS as a whole, rather than the political opinion.
Which is why in the previous post, it was all political option...

Could you point out exactly where it mentioned newspaper syndication? I might not be looking in the right place, but when I looked up the prizes it mentioned only a book deal and contracts for syndication on a comics website.

I've decidied to imagine DCS as not only not realizing how high taxes are, but not realizing taxes exist. Its alot funnier. She'll get her first check and her W-2 and she'll be like "What the hell is this?

I won't read it, but hopefully it will lead people to O&M. I personally think that should have been syndicated but meh :P . Best wishes to her.

I'm surprised that's not both a) taken and b) porn.
