And with that, we have come to the conclusion of Ozy & Millie's first year!

A rather too quick search makes me thinks this Nova is referring to a TV show about science. A slightly more detailed search says the show was inspired by Horizon, so that sounds awesome.

I forget. Why are Ozy and Millie friends with Stephen again? They seem to sarcast at him more than strictly necessary. They don't seem to have anything in common. And the few times we see them trying to spend time with him, his various nerdy Dee En Dees and Gathering: The Obsession games ward them off.

He's a bit like Bocaj; that kid you only spend time with because nobody else will.

You wound me. For your information, the friends I totally have say they spend time with me because my zany style of humor amuses them and because they have a betting pool going to predict when I'll finally flip out and tear out someone's throat.
Stephan having some sort of symbol in his glasses became a recurring device. It even occasionally spread to other characters, sometimes even of the non-bespectacled variety.

Ozy and Millie are friends with Avery who is friends with Stephen, making them friends in law, meaning they hang out together at social events and school but don't go to each other's homes unless there are other mutual friends there.

Which begs the question why they're friends with Avery.

Ozy and Stephan met in gym class and bonded over not wanting to play football.

I remember a Mark Twain story where Tom Sawyer explains this phenomenon to Huck and Jim, who react with disbelief. Jim asks if it means that when doomsday comes, it would actually be over two days.

No, just careless. I corrected it just now.
