I see the "You've got mail" throwaway joke in the second panel. I could be wrong, but I think "Sabrina Online" used that joke first, also as a throwaway.
As for what Stephan's watching, I'm a little surprised it wasn't something more quintessentially nerdy. But I suppose that most ubergeek TV references would be lost on most readers, and the rest (e.g., "He's dead, Jim") would be too hackneyed.
