I think I'll ramble on a bit more about lenses, only because it is still irking me. :( These just don't look right, I mean MY glasses don't make anything look darker/lighter than they should.

I actually like the text, adds a bit of color and tone.

Mine does! They have a very subtle smokey brown tint that darkens in UV light. My other pair is slightly blue to match the frames. ^_^

The whole Llewellyn's-skin-looking-lighter-behind-his-glasses thing could be accounted for IRL by mild glare off the lenses perhaps. Derrick Fish, for what it's worth, actually lightens the outlines behind the lenses of glasses on characters that have them, which makes for an interesting effect.
