An odd combination: the brown of old papers with a blue backdrop. I'd've expected yellow, but maybe it's more amusing this way.

Duh, in the old west everyone looked like that! Why do you think the first photos were in black and white if everyone wasn't like that?!?!? Silly. :roll:

I like it, only thing is I don't think the blue in the first panel fits.

I think it would be better if the whole panel (and subsequent panels) are fully in sepia. This combination...just doesn't have the same impact.

I say that the sepia in the last panel is a little too heavy of a brown. But given the cartoony context, it'd be hard for it not to be.

Like the gag of having his spectacles rose tinted in panels 2 and 3... At least, I presume that was deliberate :)

However, wouldn't that gag be more appropriate if he were reminiscing rather than reciting a rather not-good memory?

I think the contrast blue-red in the first panel is a bit ugly, bit for the rest I like the strip.
