Ozy and Millie is irreplaceable. Yes, it will end, but I don't see why we have to transform this place into something else.
Not exactly "end", since there might be the high school strips, so it's just going on long-term hiatus.

I don't forsee any major changes, as I'm sure the ending of O&M will be far from earth-shaking for most members of DC. We were all brought together by O&M, but this is a community that stands on its own as far as I'm concerned.

I know I won't be going anywhere.
Indeed. I haven't actually read an O&M strip since last summer, but I'm still here.

The only issue is what we have to attract new members after O&M is finished.

Despite your somewhat sarcastic (I think) comment, it is a legitimate question. Why do we need more members? Not that I am opposed to new people joining; but I don't think it is something we need. The forum and IRC (usually) are pretty active. Enough so to justify keeping the forum around.

It wasn't really sarcastic. A forum will eventually die if no new members join, so we might need something to attract them.

No worries there, mates. I'm here.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

<Arloest> Don't leave, Tai
<Arloest> Then they'll only be 9 people here

paraphrasing here, but lawl

hijacking the computer next to me in this computer lab, currently out of 10 people in the IRC, 9 joined after me (join date) and without really looking up the details, most were within the last two years. I think the only people who frequent the IRC older than two-three years are Arloest and Zaaphod and JAcen now, Dos/shshsimon/BSP/Jefff/Rikirk/ pop in once in awhile and Octan/Tavis/Vis/Leon show up once in a blue moon but v0v Dozens of once-regulars (5+ days a week) have disappeared entirely and I really want to type to type all the HERETICS NAMES out but Image

Do it three times and the named heretics arrive in the dead of night to pluck your heart from your chest cavity.

Or so I've been told.

I've been around for nearly 2 years omgomgomg.

And already some of my favourite IRC frequents have disappeared. :(

Well, some old members will invariably leave, and numbers will whittle down, and as that happens, other people will become less interested in staying, and they'll leave too.

I would get on the IRC channel, but whenever I do, people whine about my use of coloured font (something I can't do anything about in Trillian).

And, I've been here four and a half years, roughly :-P
