I dumped a bunch of smilies from Something Awful.

http://images.mzzt.net/smilies/

Some are decidedly NSFW.

I've always liked these anime smilies, I think I got them on the animeondvd.com forum years ago.

From the readme in the zip file [website no longer exists]...
Anime Style Smilies are copyright © 2001-2003 Kris Granholm
(http://criticalanime.com/smilies/)

The smilies are free for non-commercial use only and may be distributed
freely as long as this readme file and all smilies are included and
unaltered. (In other words, don't sell them or claim them as your own!)

Were it up to me, I'd remove all the smileys except . I'm too lazy to click "Disable Smilies in this post" every time.

Easy solution: go into your preferences and change that box to "Enable Smilies in this post" Image

Need a crying emote. We have this: :( but it doesn't cry per se.
There is this:
Quoth the spotted fox: *yerf* :locke:
You usually
have to take what people say
with a grain of salt.
(or in cases like
mine, a shaker or two may
yield the best result.)

Yeah I pretty much hate image-based emotes. Whenever I use one it's on accident.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Personally, I like these: :dragon: :locke: :ozy: :millie: :ninja:
and kinda like these, too: :wag:
and this just annoys me:
I think there should be a little heart icon. Many people could find a use for that.
